  • Deanne Hummelstad:

What do you do with a 10 and 13 year old who are permanently attached to their computer?? Answer – Billy the baby goat!! My sons were so enamoured with this little fellow they completely forgot about their computers!! Ken took the boys out for a couple of hours to round up and move some sheep with his working dogs while our 23 month old was entertained by the chickens and baby lambs. A real treat was the sulky ride with Cody the Shetland pony and the sled ride with Bella the very patient clydesdale. The kids even got to bottle feed Rosemary the tiny orphaned lamb. We stayed in the Barn unit which was very comfortable. We wanted for nothing and nothing was a trouble. The farm fresh eggs were to die for!! Make sure you save your food scraps for the chooks!! Elaine & Ken were very accommodating – nothing was a trouble. We would highly recommend Barcoo Farmstay.

  • Briggs Family:

Thank you so very much Elaine and Ken for letting us share your beautiful farm. Angus (3) and Max (18mths) had the best time and really enjoyed feeding rosemary the lamb and the chickens, as well as collecting their eggs. I took over 700 photos in 24 hours, Ive told all the mothers at playgroup about you and we cant wait to come back to do it all again soon – when you get the chance take a nap in the caravan, it really is cosy and very comfortable.

  • Samantha Rouse:

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Barcoos Barn Farmstay. Our three boys loved feeding the animals, collecting eggs, having horse rides and driving the tractor. Elaine and Ken were wonderful hosts. They allowed the boys to play with the animals all day and didn’t even mind when the boys accidentally let the chickens out! We will definitely bring our caravan again for another stay and we’ll make it a longer stay next time. Thanks for such a wonderful country experience.

  • Claire, Imogen and Yannick:

We had a fabulous overnight stay at Barcoo’s in September. Nothing was too much trouble for Elaine, especially as far as my daughter was concerned – it’s hard to pick out a highlight for Imogen, but perhaps it was playing with Ruby the cute border collie pup … or was it feeding the baby animals … or maybe the pony ride? No, it must have been the sled ride, pulled by an enormous shire horse! Our German guest, Yannick, also got a great taste of real Aussie country hospitality. We highly recommend Barcoo’s to everyone!

We’ve just returned from a stay at Barcoo’s and we are going back there again in October for 3 days. We stayed in the caravan the four of us and it was so warm and comfortable we loved every minute of it.
We had use of the big camp kitchen for our meals and the bathroom facilities.
My son & daughter were constantley involved feeding the horses, sheep, goats (which they loved the most) dogs and chooks and we were treated to many fun rides.
Our hosts Elaine & Ken were great with the children, so encouraging.
    See you soon.

Via Email – Thanks Elaine. The kids had a ball at Barcoo’s and they (and we!) have already recommended it to family & friends in Sydney.
We will forward some photos to you once we are back in UK. Thanks again. Vivien

  • Lara Slater:

Our family stayed at Barcoo’s Farm and had a fabulous time. Elaine was a pleasure and was fantastic with the children. My children aged 7 & 9 said they had a better time at Barcoo’s Farm than at Dubbo Zoo. Barn apartment was lovely and clean. Highly recommend.

    Thanks from The Slaters

  • The Kennedy's:

A fantastic intro to farm life for our 7 and 5 yr old – Elaine was fantastic with the kids by encouraging them to get involved (and also very patient when they weren’t listening!)

    Lots of highlights:
bottle feeding Basil and salt & pepper
    driving the tractor with Ken
feeding the chooks, horses, cows etc
    Pony rides

The barn apartment had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy.

We’ll come back, but we’ll bring some friends next time!

    Thanks!

  • Beverley & Bob Jones:

We found this lovely farm intending to stay one night. It was so peaceful, quiet and with such superb views that we stayed for 6 nights.
